it’s not until i use the public transportation in a city
that i feel like one of them. i know i’m not a local, but riding the metro means
i am assimilating. that i am starting to belong. we bought one of those
conversational translation apps to know what to say. and we’ll begin using
those phrases to earn half smiles from our new neighbors. it certainly helps to
have a baby in our arms!
right now, i’m riding the train out to campus – we have a
meet and greet for international students {like me} tonight. and then i get the
next several days off from classes. fantastic schedule, isn’t it?
we got into the city on sunday, and aside from running to
the store for some essentials, we did as little as possible.
we bought a warm baguette and cheese to eat on our balcony. ah. so good
we’ve continued buying baguettes and cheese each day since. and we both know we
need to begin eating more fruits and vegetables but oh. it’s just so good. and it's not like we've been using the french women don’t get fat approach.
here are some pictures from our balcony.
