baby slippers

this must be what the books call "nesting." i'm working on a baby soaker, made maude a sweater for chilly weather, and am now creating baby slippers.

before you start to think that i've gone off the deep end, all of these crafts are super simple - so it's not like i'm a prairie woman now or something.

here's what's going on. for these little booties, i had to

(a) cut pieces of felt from a template (super easy)

to then (b) sew the pieces together.

the second part of this process is also super easy if you know how to sew. i do not. so, i you tubed it. it took me a few tries, but - no joke - i was sewing it correctly in 20 minutes.

anyway, i know not everyone has babies, but i think this could be an awesome baby shower gift {for only 10 bucks!} or you could make slippers for yourself out of old wool sweaters. just a thought.

anyway, here are some pics of my process, and i've included links below to those people who really made this project possible.

here's the link to purlbee for the template, and here's the link to a tutorial on the buttonhole stitch. if you have questions, just ask! i'm happy to share my learning curve with you.
